(Author Note: my father’s birthday was on the 17th of this month. Mine is on the 5th of February. We haven’t wished each other happy birthday in years. I’m not sure how long. We don’t talk at all. I held on to this poem, but wrote it on his birthday. I had to gather the mindset to even post it, I hate being vulnerable when it comes down to my old man 😕)
