Close To Being With You

Extreme measures
Our resistance loses its band
We’re losing support
From one another

~ Sakari

I lose myself in moments
At the thought of you
You’re the highlight of all my secrets
If only we could have met
So much younger

~ Sakari

Do I belong here
The way they look at me
I can’t tell if it’s from interest
Or disturbance

~ Sakari

I’m out of place
I’m a shadow in a room
Full of light and life
I’m undead

~ Sakari

I used to be able to cry
Now I can’t even force it out
Unwilling and unable
My emotions disobey me

~ Sakari

Just when I wanted to give up
You needed me
And then I smiled to your smile

All the time I want to ignore
This winter feeling in my chest
Your phone keeps you frozen
The blue light directly in your face

~ Sakari

And then you became someone else
A new form completely
I was so glad to know you
This new you

~ Sakari

Be wherever you want
I was going to meet you there in thought
Across the world wasn’t so bad
In the sky for hours to greet your hands

~ Sakari

My poetry moves from your push
The motivation I probably needed
Don’t go back into the sky, anytime soon
Don’t go back to the stars

~ Sakari

Can I be your countdown
Starting from nine
But never reaching zero
Showcasing your dimples
At the thought of me

~ Sakari

The way I’m so behind
I’m catching up with a Sagittarius
She hasn’t said a word yet
Just acknowledging me with her eyes

~ Sakari

Slow Days

When I leave my head down
I see you lifting my chin up
In the palm of your cuddle hand
Suddenly…I believe it all again

~ Sakari

No more girls
No more stress
No more trying to figure things out
No more finding myself

~ Sakari

She leaves and I find you
You leave and she sends a message
Maybe I should turn my phone off
And spend the whole day in bed

~ Sakari

Haven’t had anyone
Touch my heart and mean it
A shard in the palm of their hand
I didn’t mean it

~ Sakari

What’s to need
That’s another human being
I can’t wait for myself to pretend
That it’s all worth it another round

~ Sakari

Of course she says hi
What does that do for me
I respond and let her in
What does that do for me

~ Sakari

Never Waiting To Exhale (Interlude)

Am I allowed to see you this way
Do I have your permission to daydream
To lay beside you in a summer’s field
And tell you, how much I hate the summer
***
You have a balanced look
Of ambition and amazement
I let it go, every time I exhale
No point of waiting, I exhale
No point of anxiety, I exhale
The moment I take in your image, I exhale
***
Captured, but I can’t say it enough
I never asked to be released from this trance
Who needs a soul when I have eyes
Can I just talk to your spirit instead

~ Sakari

Thank You For Being Beautiful (Interlude)

To tell you you’re beautiful
Is to tell winter it’s cold
***
To tell you you’re beautiful
Is to hold the sunlight in one’s hand
***
To tell you you’re beautiful
Is to land a shot, on a stationed target
***
It’s obvious that the wind blows during a storm
And that night is always after day
Just as I am after you, hand and foot
If you were to pass my way
***
(An inspired poem by you — thank you for being beautiful)

My Only Star In The Sky (Interlude)

I didn’t know
When you went away
That I would lose this much
Track of time
So much is gone from me now
So little left to complain about
***
My only star in the sky
On a napless night, you are
Resting in my mind, like you aren’t
Working the night shift
Taking away my attention
From the moon towards the disgrace
So distant, let’s not be that anymore
So maintained, let’s not blame life again
***
Even if we know each other
Let’s build all over again
You’ve been outgrowing me
I’ve been unsure about other things
Call it a waste of time
And be back beside me
***
My only star in the sky
On a napless night, you are
Resting in my mind, like you aren’t
Working the night shift
Taking away my attention
From the moon towards the disgrace
So distant, let’s not be that anymore
So maintained, let’s not blame life again

~ Sakari

Casual Winds (Interlude)

Who’s not picking you in their dreams?

Who’s not acknowledging every echo from your voice?

River streams to the ear

You have to be whispering somewhere close

It’s underneath my own skin

These words that I’m just saying

You have to be more than just my inspiration

But no matter what anyone else is saying

I spill portions of my heart’s potion

Thinking of you

~ Sakari

Until My Days End (Interlude)

What efforts do you need

My heart has pen and paper ready

My soul has your link

I only need your permission

Does the edge of a night’s shore

Sound like a plan to you

I’m asking because my life force

Cannot sustain another year without you

After seeing that you exist

~ Sakari

Won’t Forget Your Waves (Interlude)

So jealous I’m not in your bed
Upset that I’ve caught you so late
When are you really going to bed
Can I get you to stay up late
***
Won’t change my mind if you say yes
I’ve been locked inside these thoughts for days
Like seeing you come my way isn’t natural for me
Not questioning if I can keep you in your room for days
***
Is it mine or your waves
That will lead us in direction
I want to know what I don’t know about you
I can see myself with you, in every direction

~ Sakari

Poetry Pack: Sex & Other Drugs – Preview

Relativity

It counts

Everything you do to me

Lists itself on my board

***

I don’t know what you’re saying

When he’s on top of you

Those are your moments

I request you in mine

***

Doesn’t it break you

The way it does me

Having to feel on yourself

Without anything sounding off

***

In your background

~ Sakari

Late & Withholding

As beautiful as she gets

I drag my own self to change these ways

The way I see it

I’m more understanding this way

Her sex can’t be delayed

My mind consists of her thrust

***

You’ve got it, you’ve got me

Strung out on my bed

With the same sheets I made

The last time you were thought of

I feel her in real life

Sex, sick, and tired

***

I drip on my own restrictions

She has me on a decline

~ Sakari

Bury Yourself In My Bed

She’s here for me

But not in the way that I need her

I hear her words

Could she feel my hands

***

Those memories

Are just memories

They’ll still be there

All that you have behind

Your love still counts

You’re not going anywhere

You should spill yourself

All over my night

***

Her time has investments

She calls them her family

I’m so used to this loneliness

I can’t create a thing

You can’t be this virtual

You’re something so personal

***

Those memories

Are just memories

They’ll still be there

All that you have behind

Your love still counts

You’re not going anywhere

You should spill yourself

All over my night

***

I’ll be selfish when he calls you

I’ll be demanding of your time

I’ll be ungrateful when you leave

You have my hours in your pocket

You can’t go, I won’t let you

Though I can’t stand to face you

You leave, you leave, you leave

I cut, I cut, I cut

~ Sakari
