One Way Flight

Everything about you
Tells me to kiss the moon
You’re the closest I can get to this
You’re the reflection in the lake

~ Sakari

For others, it’s a countdown
For me, it’s a wish that escaped
I was just fortunate enough
To get the right genie

~ Sakari

Something deeper than a text
Something louder than a notification
I’m sipping myself to exhaustion
I use the days to tell a story

~ Sakari

I already have you
But I don’t have you
We’ve got plans to
But we can’t plan further
You came to me during my awake
But I’m dreaming of our nights

~ Sakari

I know once we get there
It’ll be everything included
You’ve already got someone to watch the kids
I’ve already got the place you can meet me

~ Sakari

Nothing seems like a sacrifice
When you’re what’s on the line
I’ll watch the clouds
Wave my old life goodbye

~ Sakari

Hold Me Tight Or Not

Photo by 蔡 世宏 on Unsplash

When I ask what you’re doing
I meant to ask if you were thinking of me
I mean do you love me
When there’s so many guys around

~ Sakari

If I was sad more often than happy
Would you believe you had this effect
Would you be cool with me acknowledging
I stress so strongly over you
I’m not the guy you can say
I can get over you

~ Sakari

Let’s never break up and mean it
Give passes to say the words in any order
There’s no chronological way
To be your lasting partner

~ Sakari

What does a kiss from you feel like
Your lips resemble face pillows
I crack under the pressure
Of feeling wonderful from you

~ Sakari

I’ve been on hiatus without you
You’re an element to my needs
An important impact on who I am
On a daily basis

~ Sakari

Can we stay indoors
For three days straight
No sunlight, just your eyes
To tell me when to wake

~ Sakari

Author’s Note: I’ve begun serializing poetry on Amazon — meaning my poetry will be completely free for all Kindle Unlimited users. I’ll be updating this series weekly, with a new part every week.

You’re the liquor I can chase
The high that I believe in
I feel you against my skin
My veins react every time

~ Sakari

Every way possible

It has to be us

No matter where it goes

Can we talk a little longer

~ Sakari

Poem # 2

As long as your door never closes

As long as you’re open for invitation

As long as I can be

I’ll foreal be

~ Sakari

Poem # 3

My hopes leap

That’s how they get high

I’ve skipped my last two blunts

These are sober thoughts

~ Sakari

She has to leave out of the country

She asks me do I mind

She says if I need to find someone closer for now

She understands

Poem # 5

Take away beautiful dreams

And drawn-out rainy nights

Give away my senses

With blind folds around my eyes

And maybe your awareness of me

Will suddenly appear

~ Sakari

Poem # 6

Starting over

Seems like a small request

A simple response

For an effortless search

As magic touches underneath our feet

Allowing both of us to skate

On top of the 12:36am

~ Sakari

Poem # 7

They all lie

Those who said that you

Weren’t up to part

You’ve been the missing piece

A divinity remembrance

~ Sakari

Poem # 8

I cannot imagine you

Without purple flowers

Growing at your feet

You mean just that much

To my imagination

~ Sakari

Poem #9

Something to believe in

I keep seeing you in

Everything you wear and post

I keep seeing you

When I put my phone down

~ Sakari

Poem # 10

There can’t be any risks

Without caution signs

I never looked for a thing

Outside of your eyes

~ Sakari

Author Notes: I’m putting together my own e-commence store. My books, being digital products, will have their own safe haven to be in, instead of being split amongst many places. I’m taking absolute control over my career, being more of an entrepreneur than “author.”
