Troy could hear footsteps quickly closing in on him, only giving Troy enough time for a quick breather before he jumped back up.
“How the fuck is he taking all these bullets?” A different voice shouted behind Troy.
Troy slammed his body into the wooden back door of the next house he headed to, knocking the door down and bursting himself completely through the entrance. His body was wet from all the blood he was losing. However, Troy wasn’t concerned about death. Troy knew he wasn’t about to die. He had the gift. Troy called it as such because he didn’t know what made him so different from the average person, but for some odd reason…Troy could heal within seconds from any damage he took. This wasn’t Troy’s first time being shot. He had been stabbed, shot, and hit by a car, none of which had killed him. Troy wanted to call it immortality, but he couldn’t, seeing as he was still able to get sick from an unknown sickness he had. Maybe it was the curse that came with his gift.
Touching Troy’s hip, the bullet wound was already gone. Troy pulled out his wide sword, ready to engage his pursuers. He didn’t have to wait long, as a voice spoke through the opening of the doorway. It was the same rough voice that loomed over the front door of the last home Troy was just in.
Slow footsteps walked alongside the voice as a shadow approached the doorway before Troy’s pursuer did. “I won’t shoot you,” The voice said, getting closer and closer to being more than just a shadow. “I hate wasting bullets.”
Revealing himself, was indeed a muscular man. The same muscular man that attempted to spray Troy with a barrage of bullets while he used his partner as a human shield. This man was around six foot, not too much bigger than Troy. Troy was at least five foot seven, so he wasn’t too much of a threat to Troy. The man’s bald head was scarier than he was, as it seemed to be too smooth and shiny for Troy to even comprehend.
The bald guy was indeed free of his firearm. “You and me,” He continued talking, taking steps into the house. “We settle this.”
The bald man closed the door behind himself, locking it afterwards. Troy placed his blade against the wall in the corner, somehow trusting his word. As a mercenary, being challenged to a duel was a strong code of honor to Troy. He was truly able to show off his killing skills. Too bad for the bald man, Troy specialized in melee combat, if he didn’t get the hint by the swords that he only carried. Maybe the bald man believed he had an advantage since he was bigger than Troy in height and width. Troy was scrawny, not too much to look at. But that had never stopped him before in a fight.
Troy locked the front door and allowed the muscular man to take off the rest of his gear, his magazine belt and his earpiece. With nothing but a pair of gloves on and a black muscle shirt, the bald man seemed raring to go. His fighting stance that he jumped into proved that.
Placing his guards up as well, Troy showed his opponent he was also ready.
The two of them circled around the room in their fighting stance first, not taking an eye off each other as they readied themselves for the first opening to strike. Of course, The muscular man struck first, throwing a quick left jab that Troy managed to shuffle to his right and dodge. Troy took a quick shot at the side of his aggressor’s face, barely even moving the man’s head as he ate the punch with no problem at all. The bald man returned the punch with a right hook, connecting with Troy’s left eye and knocking out his vision for a split second, which seemed to be plenty of time for Troy’s adversariy. He then rushed Troy, tackling him into the wall, Troy’s back catching the force of not only the wall, but the bald man’s weight as well.
Troy then endured a barrage of punches, hitting Troy a lot faster than someone of his size normally could. Troy caught two more to the face before he started blocking, letting his arms be a shield.
After four punches of blocking his face, the bald juggernaut took jabs at Troy’s body, folding Troy forward as Troy instantly cuffed the man close to him to avoid further damage. Their fight had become a wrestling match, with Troy trying to give himself a chance to swing back. The first thing Troy did was get them off the wall, pushing his weight against the bald man’s body until they were back in the middle of the room. The bald obelisk speed was unexpected, but Troy knew what he was dealing with now.
The bald giant shrugged Troy off of him as expected, but not before Troy caught his foe with a hook to the face, this punch managing to stagger the aggressive man onto the table behind him. That showed Troy that his target had burned too much energy on offensive, attempting to go all out in the beginning of the fight.
Troy rushed him, catching his foe as soon as he stood back up, with another punch to the face. The massive man grabbed Troy this time, engulfing the punch and using the blow to get ahold of Troy. The bald fighter pulled Troy close to him, turning his grip into a bear hug with their chest touching in an uncomfortable position, the man’s chest being extremely bigger than Troy’s, with man hair all over.
The big ape twirled them, with a one-eighty that transitioned to the big threat slamming Troy onto the table that was once behind him. With the man coming down with Troy, the wooden table broke while the two of them collapsed to the floor. Of course, that knocked the wind out of Troy, giving the juggernaunt enough time to sit up and pull out a knife from his boot. A dagger to be exact.
Looming the dagger over Troy, the big man slammed the blade down through the air, with Troy only being able to stop the knife from contacting his eyeball by gripping his wrist. Troy struggled to avoid the knife from landing. They both struggled.
The big brute pushed down with all his strength, shaking Troy’s arms and hands as the blade slowly eased its way to its directed target.
“You can take so much damage to the body,” The man grunted. “Let’s see if the same happens to your head.”
That was something Troy wanted to avoid, seeing as he had never taken extreme force to his head. Troy didn’t know what would happen. He wasn’t sure if he would die or heal. Troy wasn’t about to find out. He knew he wasn’t going to get out of this dispute without being impaled, it was just a matter of where.
With all his strength, Troy pushed the direction of the blade to his upper chest, inches away from his neck. The blade jammed directly into its new target, alerting every ounce of nerve in Troy’s body of how much pain he was in. Unfortunately for Troy’s opponent, Troy was used to the pain, allowing his adrenaline to kick in even further.
Troy punched the big slug off him, catching him with a nice punch to his chin. Falling to his side, Troy leaped up as fast as he could, grabbing his wide sword from the corner of the room. Troy quickly spun around, seeing that his opponent was barely getting up, one knee still on the ground. Troy didn’t hesitate. He swung his wide blade through the air, picking up speed as his sword cut through the atmosphere before reaching its intended target…the big man’s neck.
There was a rumble on the floor as if a heavy can or something fell and began rolling around. Afterwards, there was a much louder thud. That was the end of their fight. Troy was victorious.
