Several dreams on the steps
The first night I overslept
Scarier than fiction
My mama
Was my first eviction
I was just ten
Sippin advice
My father was there
But out of my life
Out of his seven
I was the burden
A disappointment to him
More like a servant
I was the oldest
So I got the coldest
Shoulder from him
Everyone noticed
But I wasn’t trippin
We were called family
Our fist fights were brutal
He would always slam me
Bigger than me
I was too small
Five foot three
I didn’t weigh much at all
Not much has changed
I stay in my lane
In my own place
While he walks the rain
