(Poem)If Love Was Real

(1)If Love Was Real

If love was real, you’d be easier to find.
Easier to take risks with.
Easier to get ahold of.

If love was real, you’d love me from the start.
I wouldn’t have to work for it.
It’ll be magical, like the shit they used to say…

My love interests say anything
Magical bullshit, that doesn’t make sense
But you want it to make sense
But you can’t tell me how it makes sense
Tell me how to heal, you want me to
Tell you how I feel, something I can’t do
Because the last girl I hugged
Taught me to hold on to
Everything, I never wanted to
So now, I hate her too.

And I hate love too.
I hate feeling like, I could love you.
I don’t wanna love you.
I don’t want you to trick me too.
Suicide feelings from loving you
Seeing how long it takes, before I’m losing you.

If love was real, you’d be easier to find.
Easier to take risks with.
Easier to get ahold of.

If love was real, you’d love me from the start.
I wouldn’t have to work for it.
It’ll be magical, like the shit they used to say…

Women, women, women…
So many to please, but whose pleasing me?
I used to be so sure, now I’m insecure
Signing my art over to whoever, just to be secure
Realizing so late, that sex ain’t worth it.
That love ain’t worth it.
That these last minute girls, ain’t worth it.
I bet you I hate you too.
I bet you I move slower, with the next girl I’m with
Get out this rut that I’m in
And take myself to a million, off purely a pen.

If love was real, you’d be easier to find.
Easier to take risks with.
Easier to get ahold of.

If love was real, you’d love me from the start.
I wouldn’t have to work for it.
It’ll be magical, like the shit they used to say…

Poem: Legacy Mornings

Spent the night in the quiet zone
My old man won’t answer the phone
Telling Mom I was on my own
Hotel people at the door
Then he wonder why I got a habit
Cutting up like a Savage
I won’t buy a gun
Not to have it
I don’t need your love
I never had it
Just another father
With baggage
I sold my first package
Because you asked me
I couldn’t do fronts
So don’t ask me
When the other kids went to school
I was doing drop offs
With you
In the back seat with the tool
Since you were my dad
I had a lot to prove
Watching stop lights for the police
We were barely home
We dwelled in the streets
Taking offers that my siblings didn’t see
Doing big deals
Minus the tax fee
Now I’m on my own
Keeping low key
